The Prime Minister of Niue, Honourable Dalton Tagelagi had the opportunity to meet with a few of our diplomatic partners, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Niue, the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Niue, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Niue.

These presentations mark an important step in deepening diplomatic relations between Niue and the respective nations, signifying trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to a prosperous future.

During the meetings, each Ambassador presented their Letters of Credentials to the Prime Minister of Niue.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, His Excellency Mr Luis Morejόn Rodríguez expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the Ambassador to Niue. His Excellency conveyed heartfelt greetings from the Cuban people and Government to the Government of Niue.

The Ambassador of the State of Israel, His Excellency Mr Ran Yaakoby acknowledged Niue’s support and expressed his eagerness to enhance cooperation in various promising fields. Reflecting on his first visit to Niue in August 2023, he reaffirmed envisioning new opportunities for cooperation, development, and shared success.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Her Excellency Mrs Omur Unsay reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to maintaining and further strengthening friendly relations between Niue and Turkey. Ambassador Unsay acknowledged the Prime Minister’s visit and expressed her dedication to fostering closer ties.

The Prime Minister of Niue, Honourable Dalton Tagelagi expressed his appreciation to the Ambassadors of Cuba, Israel, and Turkey for their warm and encouraging statements. Prime Minister Tagelagi welcomed the opportunity to strengthen bonds of friendship and cooperation with each nation, looking forward to exploring new avenues for collaboration that would benefit all parties involved.

The Government of Niue looks forward to the opportunities these strengthened diplomatic ties will bring, furthering Niue’s role as an engaged member of the international community.
