Power Shutdown Notice – Wednesday, 5 November (Northern Side of the Island)

Weather permitting, Niue Power advises that a scheduled power outage will be carried out this Wednesday 5th November 11pm to Thursday 6th November 5am.

The outage is part of ongoing installation of a new transformers to improve our transmission lines.

The outage will affect the northern side of the island from Namoui / Sekena (Makefu) to Liku. It will allow us to replace the old transformers in Makefu south and central.

PLEASE TREAT EVERYTHING AS IF LIVE AT ALL TIMES.

SCHEDULED POWER OUTAGE NOTICE
Sunday 2nd November 2025, 9am to 3pm, Hakupu

Weather permitting, Niue Power advises that a scheduled power outage will be carried out this Sunday 2nd November 9am - 3pm.

The outage is to enable the installation of a new transformer serving the water bore, improving the village and the bore operations. The works will be carried out by a contractor in partnership with Niue Power.

The outage will only affect one resident, the one next to the water-bore. All other areas in Hakupu will NOT be affected.

All going well, the power could be restored earlier. PLEASE TREAT EVERYTHING AS IF LIVE AT ALL TIMES.

Update – Water supply has returned to normal.

With weather permitting Niue Power Corporation will be scheduling a POWER SHUTDOWN to the South side of the Island, on Thursday morning this week 4th September 2025 from 8:30am to 3pm.

This shutdown is to allow NPC staff to replace 2 old distribution transformer with new ones from Talamaitoga and Hakupu.

Areas affected with this outage will be from Talamaitoga, Vaiea up to Hakupu.

NPC apologize for any inconvenience caused but need your support in allowing us to complete the task in hand.

Please treat all electricals live at all time.

To enable the servicing of our new generators, we plan to turn off the power supply to the whole island. We will try and carry out the works without the need to turn the power off.
