The Government of Niue extends its congratulations to 22 new residents who were granted Permanent Residency status in Niue on Wednesday, 27th August 2025.

The Minister for Immigration, Honourable Crossley Tatui, expressed the Government’s acknowledgement, stating “We extend a warm welcome to our new residents in Niue. The granting of permanent residence status is a recognition of your dedication to our community. Today we celebrate not only your journey but also the future we will build together.”

Minister Tatui commended the cooperative efforts of the Niue Immigration Department, Village Councils, and community organizations for their ongoing commitment and support. He emphasized that the Government is dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all residents, recognizing the importance of diversity in building a resilient and prosperous society.

Key representatives at the ceremony expressed gratitude to the Government, sponsors, families, and the Immigration Office for their support, while affirming the new residents’ commitment to contribute meaningfully to Niue’s development and communities. They encouraged the residents to uphold respectful behavior, abide by the laws, and embrace Niuean culture by learning and using Vagahau Niue, commending their dedication, courage, and willingness to contribute to the community spirit.

Minister Tatui concluded by extending best wishes to the new permanent residents, expressing confidence that they will find fulfilment and success in their endeavors while contributing to the continued prosperity of Niue.
